4th OJO AL SANCOCHO COMMUNITARIAN FILM FESTIVAL

September 16^th – 23^rd 2011

Bogotá, Colombia

This year, in its 4^th edition, the international Communitarian Film and Video Festival, Ojo Al Sancocho, based in Bogotá, kindly opened a space for DESIS to share visions and enable dialogue regarding the role of representing active communities using the tools of communication design.

DESIS, in specific the Films and Video Chapter participated in 2 Forums regarding:

_ Art, Video, Technology and Communities: Pacific conviviality. Sept 19^th.

_ Self-management and sustainability in the framework of political incidence and communitarian work. Sept. 20^th.

Also a group of students belonging to the work-in-progress DESIS Lab from Los Andes University participated at the Academic encounters: Research on Alternative and Communitarian Media in Colombia.

The festival hosted a significant quantity of guests from Spain, Equator, Venezuela, México and the U.S.

There is to say that the guests stayed at local houses instead of hotels, so it was a full immersion experience for both, guests and the Ciudad Bolivar community (in the outskirts of Bogotá).
