Shanghai-Helsinki @ Design Museum - Everyday stories from Chongming

Design Harvests has been invited by the Design Museum in Helsinki to participate in the Design World Exhibition http://www.designmuseum.fi/en/nayttely/designworld-3/ , scheduled in the agenda of Helsinki World Design Capital. The exhibition opened at the end of January and will last until May 6th 2012, in case you have the chance to visit it.

We dream to have been able to bring to Helsinki a relevant representation of the island in which we work, the colours of countryside and the community that is the leading actor; we tried to make it through the stories of the everyday work, and also the milestones and failures of the project.
We showcase three active projects (rice harvests, bamboo crafts, mobile literacy in countryside) and the future directions of the research, like a common project about hydroponic and urban farming with local entrepreneurs. But most important, we dedicate words and images to talk about the people we work with, from the local network of sustainable food lovers, to all the schools involved in the workshops, and the worldwide partners and inspirator of DESIS.
