Background
Back to May 2007, a Double Master Degree program on PSSD between Politecnico di Milano and Tongji University started. Later, it becomes a platform to promote DESIS related cooperation. In 2008, Prof.LOU Yongqi was invited as the international scientific committee member and the Keynote speaker of Changingthechange conference which late generate the DESIS network. In January of 2009, a memorandum of establishing of DESIS-Tongji has been signed between Tongji and Polimi. In March of 2009, With the support of DESIS-International, Tongji University become one of the funding members of DESIS-China Network together with other five leading design schools in China, during that meeting,Tongji became the coordination institution of DESIS-China. At present, Tongji University is now hosting DESIS-China network (www.desis-china.org). In 2010, during CUMULUS conference hosted by Tongji University, CUMULUS signed an agreement with DESIS which greatly improved the impact of DESIS internationally. The first DESIS-Forum was also held in UN Pavilion. Chongming Xiaoqiao Sustainable Community Project led by Prof.LOU Yongqi has been started in 2007, during these 4 years, more than 20 universities from all over the world are involved in this project. It became an international platform to encourage the internal collaborations in DESIS community.

Objectives
-Promote DESIS related exchange and collaboration through high level research, education, international workshops, forums, exhibitions, publications, broadcasting and so on. -Consolidate the strategic partnerships and collaborations of DESIS-China and DESIS-International network. -Producing effective academic and social impacts through international and interdisciplinary collaborations.
